Students support program at the Faculty (PSE-FM)
The PSE-FM is articulated through a network of professionals coordinated by three teachers responsible for the PSE-FM: Irene Cambra in Basic Cycle (1st and 2nd) and Roger Codinachs (3rd) and Irene Veganzones (4th, 5th and 6th) in Clinical Cycle.
All students receive tutoring from all areas of the Faculty including PAS, PDI, subject coordinators, course coordinators, Basic Cycle and Clinical Cycle coordinators, teaching unit coordinators of territorial units (UDTs), the Head of Studies and the Coordinators of the PSE-FM. This initial action will allow for the identification of students with specific support needs that will have to be evaluated and managed by the PSE-FM coordinator of the corresponding cycle.
From the 3rd year onwards, all Medicine students are additionally assigned a tutor-mentor, who acts as an academic tutor for clinical practices and additional mentoring. The mentoring function is closely related to accompanying the student throughout the Degree and in the proactive search of future needs.
For 1st and 2nd year students, the PSE-FM foresees an individual assessment by the corresponding coordinator in order to identify academic difficulties that compromise the correct progression within the Degree. In these cases, the PSE-FM coordinator will propose the assignment of a tutor-mentor, with the consent of the student.
Once the student's needs have been identified and assessed, an action plan is defined that includes the use of PSE-FM support services
